A Number Five beats a Number 1!

04 DNA/SHOAH jt-p1

Congratulations to the Arizona Wildcats on such a great victory last night! To have to face Duke is always a daunting task, especially since they were the national champions last year. But that second half for the Wildcats was awesome!! It is such a thrill to watch a sporting event that is close to perfection, when everything is clicking, and that is what I experienced last night. We have all had that feeling of being “in the zone” and performing at our peak, I just wish we could have that feeling more often that not. But for today, and through the weekend, I will try to recall the thrill of watching a team that dug deep and prevailed with dominance!!

A light staging

This is an example of minimal staging that can produce great results! This home is a modest home that has great light and is in a great neighborhood. I collaborated with a realtor to lightly stage the home for a realtor open house. I staged the mantle, kitchen and two bathrooms, and as you know, kitchens and bathrooms sell houses! We are all craving spring around here, especially after a very cold and dry winter so I really wanted to use colors that would evoke that fresh new feeling that we are all craving! and, It was going to be a gorgeous day. The realtor made green chicken enchiladas (they were outstanding by the way) beans, and tortillas. It was a great experience!

Monday’s Quote

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.
--John Stuart Mill

I really love this quote, I first saw it in the window of a San Diego retail store while I was shopping on Orange Street. Somehow, I thought it went with the spectacular moon pictures that I took from my back porch! Go have a fantastic Monday!

My oldest turns 21

P1020508

I knew this day was coming, and I was OK with it, and even excited and happy some of the time, but as I was standing in Target trying to find an appropriate card for my son I could not even look at the sentimental cards.  I would start to tear up, so I had to go to the lame humor section so I could avoid hysterical crying in Target.  By the way, is it me, or are the cards now days ridiculously stupid? they are filled with gross humor, that is not funny or witty.  I was not sad that he was turning 21, it was how much in awe I have become of my own son.  When did that happen?  I remember two incidents that occurred recently that triggered in my mind that he is very capable and had things under control.  I will not disclose those two incidents on this blog post, but his reaction and my witnessing of his quiet capabilities left me with the proud feeling that he is under control, and can be counted on.  Success…..from a parents point of view, great success.  Happy Birthday Sweet Son.

P.S.  Notice youngest child’s subtle bid for attention!

Blonde goes back to work after 30 years

I'm not going to lie..... as I close in on my 50th birthday, and as I try and build my business after not formally working for 25 years, I REALLY relate to this woman!! I remember when the IBM Selectric typewriter revolutionized typing by using a ball for the type face instead of individual keys! I was in my 20's and working in Los Angeles, and I thought I was in heaven!! the typewriter could also auto erase and center the text, all with a push of a button. Boy have we have come a long way baby!

Monday's Quote

Dawn in the desert, originally uploaded by heat.haze.

Our lives are not determined by what happens to us but by how we react to what happens, not by what life brings to us, but by the attitude we bring to life. A positive attitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events and outcomes. It is a catalyst, a spark that creates extraordinary results. Anon.

Have an extraordinary Monday!!
